At Andiamo, we’re dreaming of our tropical getaway this December and thankfully, our favorite hotels are offering flexible rates and cancellation policies to ensure a safety net when looking towards our holiday vacation.

Four Seasons opened its doors on the East Bay of the Baha Peninsula, marking the start of the trend for many top hotel brands who are developing in this area northeast of Cabos San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. The Los Cabos property was ahead of its time in terms of accommodations that are mostly privately housed and many with private plunge pools. The expansive grounds are perfect for outdoor exploration and activities and the swimmable beach on the Sea of Cortez create the perfect opportunity for watersports and boat days.

This Rosewood property is a truly romantic destination and a luxurious slice of paradise to spend your holiday vacation at. Accommodations start with Jr Suites that are over 900sqft with sprawling indoor/outdoor lounging areas and appointed Mexican furnishings and range to signature villas up to 3-bedroom+ residences for the ultimate privacy and space. Located between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, you are in the ultimate location for offsite dining at hotspots, such as Flora Farms. However, Las Ventanas features 4 dining outlets, a lot of outdoor activities, ranging from fitness classes to tennis and golf as well as a large Four Elements Spa Menu, ensuring that no need or desire goes unmet on property.

Pacific Coast of Mexico
Cuixmala
Our favorite for couples or adventurous adult families
Perhaps the best-kept-secret on Jalisco’s Mexican Pacific Coastline, Cuixmala has started popping up on many star-studded Instagram feeds as the next place to see and be-seen. The Estate-turned-hotel was originally a private retreat for Sir James Goldsmith, the French-British tycoon, and his family. It sits on 25,000 acres of nature reserve with three private beaches and boasts wildlife such as wild zebras, eland and over 270 species of bird. Your Casita, Villa or Suite in the main Casa Cuixmala is guaranteed to be surrounded by otherworldly foliage of lush jungles and coconut palm groves. The One&Only is opening their second resort in Mexico - this time on over 640 acres of coastal rainforest within the Sierra del Vallejo, the O&O Mandarina will be the private nature escape for you to soak-in the sun and relax in your standalone treehouse or clifftop villa. Immerse yourself in the One&Only Spa that offers a blend of indigenous traditions and ancient healing techniques with modern therapies.
Our Accommodation Pick: While we haven’t been to the property yet, we are really looking forward to the chance to stay in one of the Ocean Treehouses. Perched within the trees over 40ft above ground, these treehouses will blow you away with views of the Pacific water below, your own private pool and an expansive terrace for your dedicated butler to assist with your every need.
Cancun / Riviera Maya / Tulum
Banyan Tree Mayakoba
Our favorite for great value for families of all ages
Is there anything better than the combination of the Bayan Tree brand, known for its timeless Asian hospitality, and the passionate, colorful culture of Mexico’s eastern coast. At Banyan Tree Mayakoba, expect each villa, suite or residence to come complete with a sprawling outdoor terrace or patio and many with a private plunge pool. Choose from views overlooking the idyllic ocean, accommodations nestled into the beachfront or even sitting out over the lagoon. As part of the Mayakoba hotel development, except a plethora of dining options that are within walking distance or a short shuttle ride. For a special moment, we highly recommend reserving the property’s private trajinera boat, Ixchel for a traditional Thai and Mexican dining experience aboard.
Our Accommodation Pick: For families getting away this holiday season, choose the Serenity Two Bedroom Pool Villa. Located within the the Mangrove Gardens, this 5,511sqft villa features two bedrooms, one master with a King Bed and one guest room with 2 Doubles, a large indoor dining and living area and an outdoor patio with a private heated swimming pool and jacuzzi tub. Within the comfort of our own residence, you will not need to worry about sharing beach and pool space with other families and can venture into the main resort as you please.
NIZUC Resort and Spa
Our favorite for millennial couples or groups
If you hate getting off a plane and taking a long drive to a beautiful resort, NIZUC is the perfect solution, located only 15-20min from the Cancun airport. This resort claims ocean views for a stunning portion of their inventory and has all of the pool and beach activities that you can think of. Of the 5 swimming pools on property, two of them are adults-only. The property has two exclusive white sand beachfronts for non-motorized water sports, such as paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkeling reef tours. The resort is also within close distance to golf and fishing locations.
Our Accommodation Pick: for couples, we recommend the Ocean View Deluxe King. With over 800sqft of space and ocean views that can be seen at all times of day through the floor-to-ceiling windows or from the furnished terrace, it’s hard to image a better way to pass the days. Sunbathe on your private patio or head down to the pool or beach for full food and beverage service while you sip your cocktail in the sun.

Hotel Esencia
Our favorite for couples or a girls getaway
The perfect destination for those looking for the magic of the area, but also looking for a bit more seclusion from the hustle of downtown Tulum and one of the only true 5-Star hotels in the area. Originally built as a private estate for an Italian duchess, the now-hotel includes the Main House as well as Villas with an expansive spa and sits on a 50-acre estate midway between Tulum and Playa del Carmen. The winner of countless of travel industry awards, this property is sure to not disappoint.
Our Accommodation Pick: Beach Suite, located less than 200ft from the sea with fully unobstructed sea views, this is the accommodation for true barefoot luxury lovers.
