The Island Less Traveled

While Aruba and Anguilla are two of Andiamo’s favorite destinations in the Caribbean for a beach vacation, there is so much more to discover in this part of the world. This Winter and Spring, explore the secluded barefoot luxury of some of the lesser visited islands where true five-star luxury is right at your fingertips. Andiamo has rounded up our favorite destinations to check out this upcoming season!

Virgin Gorda

Where to Stay: ROSEWOOD LITTLE DIX BAY

For Rosewood lovers like us, we have been long awaiting the reveal of the renovated Rosewood Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda. This BVI island resort blends sophisticated Caribbean styles and colors with mid-century modern design. Except crisp lines and ocean views with hints of color and embellishment to ensure your sense of place. While there are a variety of rooms, suites and villas, we find the Tree House Suite to be unique to the property, paying tribute to the stilt houses erected by Laurance Rockefeller at the original Little Dix Bay in 1964.

Disclaimer: the property still has not confirmed its reopening date for 2020, but will definitely be operating in 2021. It is not too early to start making January/February or Spring Break bookings!

Antigua & Barbuda

Where to Stay: JUMBY BAY ISLAND

Reopening on November 7th, Oetker Collection’s fabulous beachside retreat Jumby Bay will offer travelers a destination for much needed R&R either as a couple or as a family. The property was awarded a 2020 Forbes Five-Star Award following their full refurbishment throughout the resort. This pristine island hideaway touts barefoot luxury at its finest. Whether you’re staying in a suite or villa, expect a spacious, impeccable accommodation to call your home away from home. To make thigs even sweeter, the resort is all-inclusive, yet provides a la carte options. Forget your credit cards at home while you enjoy food & beverage and activities on land and sea.

St. Lucia

Where to Stay: JADE MOUNTAIN

Jade Mountain is a picture-perfect destination for a romantic vacation and one of our top picks for honeymoons or couples getaways. The resort is built overlooking the 600 acre beach front resort of Anse Chastanet with embellishments designed to highlight the natural beauty of St. Lucia. The bold architecture and sweeping spaces provide a certain island romanticism that cannot be found anywhere else on the island. Explore the 24 infinity pool sanctuaries (accommodations) throughout Jade Mountain that are each an individual work of art. The categories feature different views, sprawling views of the mountains and water and private pools. St. Lucia is a great destination for serious R&R or for those looking for activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, boating and more!

St. Vincent & The Grenadines

Where to Stay: MANDARIN ORIENTAL, CANOUAN

According to Conde Nast Traveler, the unassuming small island of Canouan is aiming to be “the Caribbean’s next billionaire playground” A write up from this February hints that this island may have his sights on becoming a hot-spot destination similar to Mustique in the 70s. The Mandarin Oriental opened last year, taking over the original Pink Sands Club and remodeling with modern furnishings. The resort now boats over 25 infinity pool private villas, seemingly staying far ahead of the travel trends for this year. The property reopened with COVID-19 protocols on July 1, 2020 and has been operating with limited guests on an already expansive property. Enjoy golf, tennis and a plethora of watersports or sit back and enjoy the full-service beaches and pools. The Spa incorporates hillside treatments and holistic therapies with classic spa services. For those looking for a larger villa or home experience, the MO Canouan is the sister property to the Canouan Estates & Villas where you can reserve larger properties with the use of the Mandarin’s facilities!
